Empty Porch Project
Back to school time is a painful reminder for loss parents. One less backpack. One less lunchbox. One less obligatory front porch photo, holding a sign that states grade, age, and what they want to be when they grow up. When you have other children, it is the sacred dance of despair and gratefulness once again. All the feelings, too many feelings, all rolled into one.
We feel it too. With our other children, there is pride and excitement around the first day of school. But we are always, forever, missing Mason. This is why we created the Empty Porch Project.
Our care packages are purchased, carefully packaged, and shipped from Mason's Movement to parents forever missing a child at back-to-school time.
Creative learning through making and moving
If you know someone that has lost a child and you'd like them to know you are thinking of them, we'd be happy to create and send on your behalf! Some choose to remain anonymous, and that is fine too.
